This blog is being birthed today, Saturday, August 19, 2007 as a place for us to talk about books, research, topics of interest, and activities that center around your school library.  As your library media specialist, or teacher librarian, I will be posting some rules and expectations for the use of this blog shortly.  I look forward to using this as tool for learning this year, and I hope that you will learn a lot as well.

I think that you should justpay $0.99 than paying $9,000.They should not have lime wire should not have it on there if you can”t get songs off of there. She should not have to pay that fine.

i think it is crazy why she has to pay so much money but if you do the crime you do the time, or in this case she has to pay her money so i think her punishment is ok!

I think that, they should have not fined the lady so much money to be a single mom. I mean 222,000K is way out of the roof to pay. But then agian i think that she deserved half of that pay after all she did break the law. If you have any more intel about it please let me know please!!!

I do not think that is right, that woman had to go to jail and she had two children at the age 11 and 13. Then she evan had trouble paying bills. Then they told that she had to pay 222K.Evan though if she had shut her mouth she would have never had to pay that big amount. That is so wrong though, that she downloded the much music and i bet she knew that it was ilegal.

I think that is bad that she have to pay 222,000,000 just for downloading a lot of music. I don’twhy she didn’t just go to court and pay a little fine but she was slow she know she need help paying her bills and taking care of her two kids.!!!!!

I think that, that is the right thing to do. But I still think that they should not have those CD’s on the internet. If it is soooooooo illegal why is it on there. I also think that there should be another way to find the people that are getting songs off the internet. I have 1 last coment………….SHE GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED!!!

  7.   clay h | October 16th, 2007 at 11:42 am

I think that if the lady new it was illegal she should not have done it in the first place. that was her stupidity i think is’s just rong.

  8.   Shelby C | October 16th, 2007 at 11:46 am

At one time I think it’s wrong but at the same time I think it’s not right to fine some one if it’s there for some one to down load that matiral and it’s availbe to anyone at anytime even children who have no idea what they are doing. so I have mixed feelings for this situation. I think it is a real comucated problem!!!

I think that the lady should not of gotten such a big fee because as you may know the woman was single and had 2 middle schoool age children. She also probably had to pay a fee for going to court!!! I think if down loding music for free is elegle than why do they still have all the systems running!!!

  10.   leah s | October 16th, 2007 at 11:56 am

I don’t get why people put thing like lime wire and other things like that, its wrong to put that up and it be something to go to court 4 !but other people that go 2 lime wire have some blam 2.its hard 2 pick what side u want 2 be on in this case oddle ! i would not sick 2 1 side .

  11.   felicia.m | October 16th, 2007 at 11:58 am

i think that they suddent put these kind of websits on the computer or if they are then they shud atleast put it so we can not get our be a serten age and u have to pay fore it because it is very rong to steel it is sine alls im saying is that she shud of thought of what she was doing before she was using the sight and qa single parent with 2 kids doesnt have the money im sure to spend in court our to the lawyer even if u work 3 or 4 jobs i sud now . im sore this is vere hard to choose wat side not to use it or to use it but if u use it pay for it. so if u use it by it dont stell it that is i am going to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that her punishment was one well deserved. Too many people are downloading music illegaly and one person stopped is already an improvement. Even if it wasn’t her who downloaded the music, it’s her computer and it’s her responsibility to make sure nothing like that happens. But, coming from a family with divorced parents, I do have to agree that 1/4 of her paycheck might be too much. I have limited spendings and I cherish what I have, and, I can only imagine what those kids feel like, thomas’s two kids, especially if they were the ones downloading the music. I feel family’s with low money income should be allowed more priveleges, but what she did was too much. I’m glad she got what she deserved, but she’s made all low income family’s look like criminals, and that’s not the case. One stupid thing that somebody else did does not mean everybody else is the same way.

    Thankyou.

Ha serves her right! These artist worked hard and SUPER hard to make these CD’s! My mother is a judge so I know how crucial this is. This woman made a bad choice and a greater risk. 2 children and single parent! Not to menion she probably gets paid min. wage. Shes crazy! I can not believe how clueless she is. And whats worse is she didn’t think she should pay a fine! She had 2 chances to stop before the major action! I just can’t imagine how her kids feel. Upset, disgusted, sad, Oh well. She got what she deserves and thats what makes me happy.(Well, it does’t nessicarily make me feel good that shes doing bad things but I’m glad she got caught.) There are too many people downloading music! Bear share and Lime wire should be gotten rid of and shut down! These people won’t understand until they are sued for MEGA $$!!

    :) bye! ps great website!!!

I think if they don’t want people to copy music Ileagaly then they should band it from theE nternet. Not waiut for people to copy it
    so they can sou them.

  17.   j.p m. | October 18th, 2007 at 12:47 pm

i think this is right that she got caught because it is wrong to steal music. she should have brought it. i don’t think she get money from people when she was stealing.

  18.   Kody M. | October 18th, 2007 at 12:48 pm

I think Jamie should get fined and put in jail for stealing music on the internet and for erasing her hardrive when the authorities came to her house and looked throgh her computer.
